The staff were not particularly enlightening with their explanations on how to save our hostages... at the very least, not publicly. So why move so swiftly?
Well, when you think about it... if we are given little information, no one would want to be the first to make a move. I think having hostages in play actually makes that more likely-- you wouldn't want to rush into something and ask rashly when there's someone life on the line.
