[because mikazuki would be torn - to be brought back into a world where tsurumaru isn't there. he will shift so he can finally take a sip of his sake, quiet and thoughtful]
... to think that he would even write in his letter, that he would not want any of our worlds to connect to his...
... I am not surprised. There is something in his world, that he does not want to get out. He was very firm with me that he did not want anyone visiting until he figured out how to deal with it.
[ tsuru was going to ignore him and go anyway but still ]
Mm. He's like that in a lot of ways-- he will hound you to share your feelings, but is also suspiciously quiet about revealing too much about himself so that you won't worry.
We were looking for an individual who possessed some swordsmanship ability, who could have used a ticket for a gift shop sword, may have possessed bruises from the pole or scratches, and... any indication of ice. [like. any at all.] There was also a suggestion that dirt may have been present on them, given that they unearthed the graves of the departed.
My theory remains to be Hua Cheng, though it is perhaps uncharitable, given that if I am wrong and he was truly buried just as we were then his alibi remains.
... he could have been buried after. I know they were saying that he couldn't bury himself as an alibi, but we have no reason to think someone could not have killed then buried after the fact.
It is as you say. His injuries were exacerbated, but that may just as well have been from murder. He possessed the most recent injuries, as well as burns - though it may have been from his excursion, it similarly could have been from Kaeya's ice.
Of course, there is always the issue of if someone simply ate jerky provided by room service and healed all new injuries.
If we did not find ice, there is a chance we did not find evidence of that either.

None. Not with this company.

Ha ha ha...
At least we do have one another.

[ he wonders how long that might last, as the numbers dwindle.
tsuru pours him the sake, and then goes to pour himself some. ]
Tell me what you think.

but also he will let his arm settle around tsuru, encouraging him close. he takes a moment first, letting his face tuck against tsuru's hair quietly]
... I think that we had someone very close to family taken from us.
But in the same breath, the one who stole him away was family to others here.

[ he leans against him. he doesn't think it's coincidence that mikazuki has hidden his face. ]
Someone will always be hurt.
no subject
.... do you still feel hurt?
no subject
[ he'll admit to it, because rupert doesn't deserve for tsuru to be coy about it. ]
no subject
I feel similarly.

[ it's said quietly, and then with a firmer nod. ]
He has so much he needs to do.

He is too ready to be forsaken.

Well, he is still in his youth. There is often a sense that if a problem is insurmountable, it must be then faced alone.
[jiji was also just going to go anyway,]

He is a good child.
This side will be darker without him.

[ he already feels the loss. ]
They will take good care of him over there.

Should he ever be the one to answer your phone call, if those stars align again, do let him know that we will see each other again soon.
[ . . . he takes another sip of his sake]
After all... I had told him once - that I believe that there are individuals who we are meant to meet in our lives. I think he is one of ours.

[ there's a pause, and he'll change the topic slightly, ]
Do you have any idea what might have happened with Kaeya's case?

[ tsuru pointed this out last week too. ]

Indeed. And that is how they chose that sacrificing Bucky was a more appropriate decision than losing their friend.

Well, the human heart is not known for its consistency, nor its ability to care for all persons at all times.
