Ha ha ha, fortune-telling is something that I have picked up in my years.
But I suppose... I am a friend to those bearing tragic roles in history first and foremost. Most of the time, I am merely an old man with many stories.
Though I wonder if there are any kinds you like more than others. I wonder if this is the appropriate one place for a ghost story, though I have many of those.
Perfectly fine with ghosts, love a good ghost tale. Hard to scare though, if that's your aim, I do spend a lot of time around animated skeletons now, and I do mean a lot. Hard to emphasize how many skeletons.
I'll trade you a story for a story, more fun that way.
Oh, that does sound fun. As for a fright... ha ha ha, I rather like the element of spirits in ghost tales, don't you? It need not be a scary story. Though telling a hundred scary stories during the summer time is also a fun practice to keep cool where I am from.
Spirits are playful, though at times helpful... There is a tale of a swordsmith by the name of Sanjou Munechika. The man was under great stress and pressure from the emperor himself in order to forge a sword - and a poor job could lead to his imprisonment. However, he had none to assist him in the process of the forgery.
Seeking help, he went to pray at the shrine of Inari - the goddess of foxes, fertility, tea and sake... and the patron saint of swordsmiths and merchants. A young boy appeared to him that day and said, "I will assist you". Though when the smith turned his back - the boy had disappeared.
Still, he had gone to his home to begin his preparations... and found instead a fox spirit. In a familiar voice, it spoke to him, "I will assist you." The two toiled together, working over the hot forge, and with inhuman level skill, a new sword was forged. [swirthed] In honor of the spirit that assisted him, the smith named the sword Kogitsunemaru - "Little Fox".... though the sword himself is anything but, ha ha ha.
[ he really just thinks this guy is referring to being a mercenary or something in a poetic way, since obviously just Being a Sword doesn't make any sense. ]

Bit of a sword theme with you, isn't it?

I possess other tales of the rise and fall of regimes and people in power - though they are a bit less whimsical.
But being a sword, I suppose that it is only natural that I am interested in them.

Think all of mine are pretty whimsical ...
