there is a bit of surprise and awe that splashes onto mikazuki's expression, a smile spreading across his lips as he allows himself to be waved in. he inclines his chin upward, admiring all the different types of decor and lets his eyes linger a bit especially long on any spiritual or celestial imagery.
Ha ha ha. In the village, those who shared living spaces together had their fates bound as partners as well. It always seemed very cumbersome - I do not know how well I would fare with it.
[mikazuki will wander idly, going back to admiring the decor. he will occasionally reach out to let his fingertips brush against the feathers]
What would have happened if rooming with one whose aesthetic clashed with yours? How saddening that would be.
I'd probably just get used to it. Not all that picky. Suppose life is a little cushy now - got a guy who can make a whole magic tower thing with a custom room, very fancy - but used to sleeping on floors. Caravans and such, yeah? Used to pay two copper to sleep in barns.
Ah, a traveler's life, I take it. I suppose that once you learn to sleep beneath the stars, you learn to sleep anywhere.
[but mikazuki will still admire the different pieces of decor before going back to molly]
Even so, I like the style that has been attributed to you. Perhaps it is a rather privileged sense of aesthetics, but I am glad that it could shine through.
Fuck-- What a question! Kind of a hard one to answer too, if you think about it. Yes? No? I mean, to be trapped in a potentially murderous situation again would not be my happiest point in life, but I assume you're not asking about that.
There were good things then. There are good things now. Happy in a different way, maybe. And maybe things that made me happy back then wouldn't be the same if I went back now. That satisfy you?
I would say that I was not looking for an answer to satisfy me... but rather I am pleased to know that you have joy in your life. After all, the different ways in which we find it are how we grow, no?
Got plenty of joy! Kind of a whole thing for me! Life's for living and there's not much point if you're not looking for things that make you happy. Hard to know how long you'll be around and everything.

Yours is certainly magnificent. It suits you.

[ Going to flop onto the bed, which he sort of sinks into. It's fine. Someone is going to have back problems later in life. ]
Last time had roommates. I am not a great roommate, so, this is probably an improvement at least for whoever would have had to share with me.

Are you happier now than you were then?

In jest, of course.

Or at the very least, that is what this old man has seen over time.

If there is something that I have learned, with all the time I have had... is that perhaps there shall never truly be time enough.
But that is what makes it precious.
