It is never a pleasant thing to see the death of someone you hold close. But, it was because of me that Yoo Joonghyuk was forced to live over one thousand, eight hundred and sixty-four lives. Suffering time again and again, losing those he cares about.
I can only really hold disdain with myself over all others. So you won't find any grudge from me. Despite the turn of events, I cannot wholly blame you for what happened. As you've said yourself, the Nightman is the root of all of this.
If anything is more deserving of it it is our esteemed host.
..I do apologize if it was at his hands you were stabbed though. And I never thanked you directly the night before, but I appreciated what efforts you made to see Jin was taken care of. [ and himself of course. ]
In the end, it is the matters that fall into our own hands that are simpler to take responsibility for. For when they fall, we may be able to look upon ourselves and say 'it is you who are the cause and you who will bear the burden'. For hearts as open as ours, caring for those that come to us despite the questionable matter of our choices, that is more welcome than to suggest fault that might belong to others, isn't it? And so when I read your words of disdain... I understand their origin.
Even so, I wish they were not true. For even then, Yoo Joonghyuk has said himself that in all of those lives, he endured so that he might still get to meet you. When you are the source of pain, you are also in the same breath the source of hope and light. In the end, shall we not simply try to ensure that man a life of more warmth than suffering - however long it may take?
But you do not need to thank me, nor apologize. In the end, for what he had done to Marie Amabuki, our score is settled in one regard - and his injury upon me has settled it in the other. I hold no grudge or malice.
As for looking after Jin [and yourself] it is always my great pleasure. For those who are always seeing to the well-being of others, is it not important to have someone who will look after that person in turn?
